Cannock Chase Council has received an increasing number of enquiries requesting information on how to safely dispose of products contaminated with asbestos.

Items which have been a cause for concern are fence panels, garages, rainwater gutterings and drainpipes.

The Council does not operate a service to remove asbestos but is on hand to provide advice and guidance to anyone who wishes to remove it themselves.

Any material contaminated with asbestos can be disposed of at the Poplars tip at Lichfield Road, Cannock. Up to four bin bags or sheets can be disposed free of charge per household per visit.
