Licence - Private Hire Drivers' Licences: Outline
A licence is required before any person can drive a hackney carriage (taxi). Dual Licences are issued to enable a licensed driver to drive any hackney carriage/private hire vehicle licensed by Cannock Chase Council. To determine fitness and propriety several checks are required including criminal records, physical fitness, DVLA driving licence and the successful passing of a knowledge test.
