Welfare rights: Outline

Welfare Benefits Information Officers are responsible for providing Welfare Benefits assessments, advice and assistance to clients of Social Services together with their immediate families and carers.

This involves not only advice but active advocacy and assistance with appeals. As well as this, Welfare Benefits advice is also provided by Welfare Benefits Assessment Officers when they are undertaking financial assessments for Domiciliary Care.

Welfare Benefits advice is also given to all persons entering residential care and their families. Requests for Welfare Benefits assistance should be made to Social Workers, Welfare Benefits Information Officers and Welfare Benefits Assessment Officers.

We can offer advice over the telephone or by email and we can arrange to visit you at home or wherever you are most comfortable.

The Lisson Grove Benefits Program provides an A-Z of benefits available to you. The Department of Work and Pensions can also provide you with information.
