Local residents, businesses and community groups are being asked their views on Cannock Chase Council’s priorities for the future, as part of the Council’s ambitious new plan for the next three years and beyond.

The public engagement, which started on 27 October, runs until 1 December and aims to gauge opinions and seek views on how the Council works with partners in public, private and community sectors to promote prosperity and community wellbeing.

Councillor George Adamson, Leader of the Council, said “At Cannock Chase Council, we’re ambitious for the future.  We want to build on recent progress and make sure we can attract more opportunities for our local communities.  The Mill Green Designer Outlet Village, due to open in 2019/20, has the potential to transform the economy of the District, bringing investment, jobs and visitors to the area.

“Alongside our award winning parks and natural environments, vibrant leisure facilities, modern housing, excellent transport links and thriving business scene, the future looks bright for Cannock Chase.

“Our new Corporate Plan, due to published in spring 2018, will set out our priorities and focus for the future.  This means being clear about the objectives for the District through what we deliver, how we work in partnership and what we expect from our partners in other organisations. To achieve this, we are proposing that our priorities for 2018-2021 are ‘Promoting Prosperity and Community Wellbeing’.  We’d love to hear your views on what these priorities mean to you, and your vision of Cannock Chase in the future.”

Residents can have their say by completing the online survey at https://www.cannockchasedc.gov.uk/council/about-council/corporate-plan or completing a paper form available from the Civic Centre in Cannock.

Council officers will also be talking to the public at a number of events, including the Christmas lights “switch on” in Cannock, Hednesford and Rugeley during November and December.
