Cannock Chase played a significant role during ‘The Great War’. From its training camps to inspiring Tolkein, there are sites to see and stories to hear. It’s community during the war made sacrifices, from mining coal in dangerous conditions to feed the war

effort to the men who

 gave their lives.

As a lasting legacy to this commemorative period, an educational toolkit

is now available to access here.

This resource has been funded by Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles, Cannock Chase Council and the Armed Forces Covenant Fund.

Both the military and civilian communities were vital and both came together once again to ‘Respect, Remember and Respond’ to its centenary. Your school can continue with this legacy, by ensuring its significance is shared with generations to come.
