Your Housing and / or Council Tax Benefit has been based on the information you have supplied. If your circumstances change you must tell us immediately. You can report this using this form, in writing, by telephoning 01543-464292, or by e-mail to benefits@cannockchasedc.gov.uk

 

You may be asked to provide proof of the change.
You must make sure that you tell us about these changes. Don't rely on someone else to pass the message on.
It is an offence not to tell us about any change of circumstances that affects your benefit. We may take court action against you and if we pay too much benefi t you will have to pay this back.

GUARANTEE PENSION CREDIT AND PENSION CREDIT SAVINGS IN PAYMENT

  1. Changes to the tenancy, including rent increases (We are automatically notified of Council Tenant rent increases)
  2. Changes to non-dependent income
  3. Absence from home, which is likely to be more than 13 weeks
  4. Changes in respect of people joining or leaving your household
All other changes must be reported to the Pensions Service tel: 0800 991234

PENSION CREDIT SAVINGS ONLY IN PAYMENT

  1. Changes to the tenancy, including rent increases (We are automatically notifi ed of Council Tenant rent increases)
  2. Changes to non-dependent income
  3. Absence from home, which is likely to be more than 13 weeks
  4. Changes to dependent children
  5. Changes in respect of people joining or leaving your household
  6. Changes to Savings Credit
  7. Capital exceeding £16,000

     

All other Housing Benefit / Council Tax Benefit* claims based on low income grounds

ALL CLAIMS WHERE PENSION CREDIT IS NOT IN PAYMENT

Examples of Changes you must tell us about

 

Tell us immediately if:
  • you receive a new or revised award of Tax Credit/Child Tax Credit
  • any of your children leave school or leave home
  • anyone moves into or out of your home (including lodgers and subtenants)
  • your income or the income of anyone living with you, including benefits, changes
  • your capital, savings or investments change
  • you or anyone living with you becomes a student, goes on a Youth Training Scheme,goes into hospital or a nursing home, goes into prison,
  • your rent changes (except Council tenants)
  • you move
  • you receive any decision from the Home Office about your right to reside in the UK
