Volunteering is simple. It's about giving your time to do something useful, without getting paid (apart from expenses). In return you get the satisfaction of time and effort well spent. In addition, volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and gain useful experience. It should also be fun!

Who Cares? - Staffordshire Good Neighbour Schemes
Do you have a few hours a week, month, now and then, that you could spend with a neighbour who needs some company or a bit of help around the house?
Or are you someone who needs a bit of help now and again? Or are you both?
We all have different skills and abilities, so while someone is helping you, you might be able to help them in return. Staffordshire Good Neighbour Schemes wants to make the introductions and connect people in their communities so that we can all help one another to make Staffordshire a better place to live in.
For further information on providing help as a volunteer or receiving help as a member please contact staffscircle@carersinformation.org.uk Or call 07740 418647

Carers Health Respite Break Fund
Many carers simply don't recognise themselves as carers, seeing themselves as wives, husbands, sons, daughters or parents of someone who has a disability, illness or requires more help as they get older.
We all know how important it is to have a break, particularly a good night sleep especially when you are providing regular and substantial care to someone who needs your help. To help carers achieve this, money has been allocated by South Staffs Primary Care Trust to a carers health respite break fund. Among other things, this can help pay for overnight care in your own home, daytime or evening so you can have a social or leisure break.
This fund is available to carers living in Cannock Chase, Stafford, South Staffs, Lichfield, Tamworth and East Staffs. If you want to find out more and see how you can apply, please contact Carers Break Fund on 01785 222365 or email enquiries@carersinformation.org.uk.

Mencap Trust Company Ltd
For many parents and carers, the biggest worry they have when writing their will is who to appoint as their trustees. For the parent of a vulnerable child, this could be doubly important. Parents need trustees who will always understand their child's needs, but they do not always know anyone they can ask. This can cause real concern.
