After the successful funding application from the Big Lottery Fund, in summer 2008, the Cannock Chase District Play Rangers have been visiting the local parks, schools and open space.
The Play Rangers provide free open access play sessions aimed at children aged 5 - 13 and their families.
The Play rangers enhance play experience whilst using the natural environment and its resources. Play Rangers monitor and reducing risk where possible. We aim to put the risk back into play, come rain or shine.
Play rangers will not prescribe play, as children attending the sessions will encourage to make the decisions themselves.
Parents and Guardians please note: Play Rangers Session are open play where children may stay as long or as little as they wish. Play Rangers are NOT responsible for any unaccompanied children. Unless you are happy for your child to be left unaccompanied, please stay with them and join in the fun. Your never too old to play!!!
