What we do ...

Cannock Chase District Council's Community Wellbeing Team - Sport work, in partnership with Sport Across Staffordshire & Stoke-On-Trent, to promote and develop a Sporting structure that meets the needs of local people and is accessible to all.

We aim to achieve this by ...

  • Ensuring a quality, customer focused, service through maintaining our Quest accreditation, our last score of 90% puts us in the "Excellent" category
  • Identifying and providing development opportunities for existing and potential sports coaches through a series of Coach Education courses and workshops
  • Promoting the benefits to Sports Coaches of joining the Sport Across Staffordshire & Stoke-On-Trent Coach Database
  • Promoting local sports clubs who are Clubmark accredited or accredited through their own National Governing Body
  • Providing access to council run leisure facilities for international and potential international athletes through the Sportstar Scheme
  • Providing a general information and advice service
  • Providing opportunities for work placements to improve skills and enhance employment prospects
  • Raising the profile and promoting the benefits of Sport and Active Recreation
  • Researching the needs of the people of Cannock Chase
  • Working in partnership with the Chase Sports Council and Chase Sportability Group
  • Working in partnership with the Cricket, Football and Swimming Development Groups
  • Working with local clubs to achieve Clubmark accreditation or their own
  • National Governing Bodies equivalent accreditation
  • Working with clubs, groups, organisations and individuals to secure external funding
