Building Control at CCDC
Welcome to our Building Control Service
The Building Control Section consists of 7 professional officers who deal with Building Regulation matters. One officer is designated as the Access Officer and has special responsibilities for dealing with access issues. The District is also split into two geographical areas for ease of working.
The Building Control Surveyors check plans and carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations 2000, for building works to both PRIVATE and COUNCIL owned properties. The Team also act as consultants on various construction matters and, where necessary, take enforcement action against persons who fail to comply with the Regulations.

Completion Certificates
We issue Completion Certificates to certify that the Council is satisfied that the work complies with the relevant requirements of the Building Regulations, in so far as we have been able to ascertain. For this reason, it is very important that we are called in to inspect various stages of work as it progresses. You will be advised of these stages on a blue card that is sent out with the notification of approval (with or without conditions) of your application.
