Waste and Recycling - Which Items Go In Which Bin?
Blue Wheelie Bin (dry recycling)
Please use your Blue Wheelie Bin to recycle the following items/materials
All the materials can go into the blue wheelie bin. There is no need to keep your paper and cardboard separate. For information on how your recycling is sorted visit: What happens to my recycling after collection
Paper and cardboard:
- paper and writing paper
- magazines, brochures and catalogues
- greetings cards
- newspapers
- junk mail
- shredded paper
- toilet and kitchen roll inners
- paper bags
- cardboard packaging
- cardboard food sleeves
- cardboard egg boxes
- envelopes
- telephone directories (including yellow pages)
- cereal boxes
- toothpaste boxes
- paper plates (clean)
- wrapping paper (with sticky tape removed please).
Containers:
- drinks cans and food tins
- glass jars and glass bottles
- plastic bottles (such as pop, water, detergent and plastic milk bottles)
- plastic food trays
- plant pots
- carrier bags (loose)
- waxed milk and juice cartons (tetra paks)
- margarine tubs
- ice cream tubs
- yoghurt pots
- empty aerosol cans
- aluminium foil/foil trays
Please ensure that all recyclables are clean and free from food contamination and are put in the Blue Wheelie Bin LOOSE and NOT IN BAGS.

What you should NOT put into the Blue Wheelie bin:
- bagged waste general or household waste
- furniture
- building materials
- plastic toys
- timber
- batteries
- plastic buckets
- thermos flasks
- glass cookware(pyrex), glazing (windows) and from picture frames
- chinaware
- textiles
- polystyrene packaging foam
- carpet
Guidelines for the collection of Blue Wheelie Bins (recyclables)

Blue Wheelie Bin collections are to be put out, at the rear of the footpath, by 7.00am on collection day.

Additional recycling placed by the side of the blue wheelie bin WILL NOT be collected. If you feel you need additional recycling capacity (larger or additional Blue Wheelie Bin) please contact waste/recycling services on: 01543 462621 or email: wasteservices@cannockchasedc.gov.uk

Recyclables should not be put into black refuse sacks as this will not be collected.

Recyclables should be put loose in the blue wheelie bin and not in bags
