Homelessness Other than Priority Need
If you are homeless and do not fit into one or more of the above categories the Local Authority does not have a statutory duty to house you. Although you still have the right to register and wait your turn on the normal waiting list. You can also receive advice and assistance from the Local Authority to help you find accommodation.
You can talk to a member of the Housing Options Team, to discuss your housing options.
We offer three pre-bookable appointment sessions at our Cannock office and one weekly pre-bookable session at our Rugeley Office

If you are single and homeless, there are a few hostels which are located in the Wolverhampton, Birmingham and Walsall district. Other options are Bed and Breakfasts and Guest Houses, you will need to be in receipt of benefits, and it is vital to check that they are willing to accommodate you prior to turning up.
Hostel numbers are available on request from main reception.
