Cannock Chase Council

Fun day of fundraising for Chairman’s charity

Published on Friday 3rd August 2012

The Chairman of Cannock Chase Council is hosting a fun day of fundraising to raise money for Cancer Research UK, his chosen charity for his year in office.

The grand charity show takes place on Sunday 12th August from 2pm at the Blue Ginger Indian restaurant in Stafford Road, Huntington.

Cllr Bob Todd will open the day at 2pm and there will be live entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening from a variety of local professional talent. There will be comedy music - including tributes to Elvis Presley, Meat Loaf, Elton John, Neil Diamond and more - and even some belly dancing. A raffle will also be held to raise even more money for Cancer Research UK.

Admission costs £8.95, which includes a hot buffet with a multiple choice of starters and main meals. Fifty per cent of the proceeds will go directly to the Chairman's chosen charity. Call the restaurant on 01543 500300 to book your place.

Cllr Bob Todd, Chairman of Cannock Chase Council, said: "I'm doing everything I can to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK during my year in office. I hope to see lots of people enjoying the fun day on the 12th August while also contributing to a very worthy cause indeed."
