Residents are reminded of some important deadlines/changes as the local elections will take place on Thursday 2 May.

Voters in Cannock Chase will go to the polls to elect Councillors to all 12 of its electoral wards and all 36 seats, there will also be an election for the Staffordshire Police, Fire, and Crime Commissioner

Work starts on the new learn to ride arena

Work has started to construct a new learn to ride arena at the Stadium site in Cannock.

The development of a £75,000 dedicated off-street riding facility will simulate the on-street safety issues without any real risk to those learning to ride.

The facility once complete will be available to everyone and local schools and community groups will be encouraged to use this provision to teach safe on-street riding.

Under a partnership between Cannock Chase Council and Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub, Richard Carty will be on hand to support SMEs in the area looking for expert advice to help plot a growth curve for 2024.

Sessions are continuing in schools across the District, to raise awareness and understanding of key issues facing young people.

Loudmouth Education and Training have been commissioned by the Community Safety Team to run theatre based educational programmes in schools across Cannock Chase. Themes and delivery are varied according to age, and the programme uses drama and discussion to enable learning on a wide range of issues. These include child sexual exploitation, grooming, exploitation into crime, knife crime, extremism, grooming, trafficking and alcohol abuse.

Cannock Stadium in Pye Green, Cannock, is moving to the next stage of its development with the design and installation of a brand new skatepark.

To help shape the design and share their views, the Council  is asking residents/users to come to their engagement days planned for this February.

The engagement days will take place at Cannock Stadium on:

Tuesday 13 February    1:30-3:30pm
Saturday 24 February    11:30-1:30pm
