Civil Parking Enforcement
New Enforcement Methods

Civil Parking Enforcement goes live on Monday 23rd March.
From Monday 23rd March Penalty Charge Notices will be deemed live and therefore payable.
From 23rd March 2009 Cannock Chase Council, along with Lichfield District Council, Tamworth Borough Council and South Staffs Council will be taking over the responsibility of parking enforcement from the police for our district.
Drivers who choose to contravene waiting restrictions on yellow lines cause real problems for everyone in our district, from mother's with young children and pushchairs, to disabled people in wheelchairs or motorised scooters, and even visitors to our district, focusing on trying to find their way around our towns and streets.
Civil Parking Enforcement will allow highly trained Civil Enforcement Officers to issue Penalty Charge Notices to people found contravening waiting times on yellow lines.
Civil Enforcement Officers will issue Penalty Charge Notices for both on and off road offences, which will carry a £70 fine for on street offences, but this will be reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days. Off street parking offences, e.g. car parks, will be cost £50, but will be reduced to £25 if paid within 14 days.
Penalty Charge Notices will not be issued to exempt groups, for example Blue Badge holders, if they have parked within the criteria of their permit and displayed the badge correctly.
The introduction of Civil Parking Enforcement will help free up our streets, allowing emergency vehicles quicker access, even helping to get refuse lorries to your house in order to empty your bins. It will make our streets clearer and safer for all residents and visitors to use.
Civil Parking Enforcement will be self financing, and surplus income will be ploughed back into the Cannock Chase district on a range of traffic improvements.
