Street litter [incl. street sweeping]: Outline
Litter in a public place is unsightly, dangerous to animals, and an offence. The average fine for littering is around £95, but can be up to £2,500.
The council provide and maintain bins to try and prevent the depositing of litter in public places and arrange for the bins to be emptied on a regular basis.
For issues relating to littering fines please contact Environmental Health on 01543 462621 or see our Green Streets pages.
