Respect Alcohol

Don't let this be you!
The Chase Community Partnership have launched an alcohol and substance misuse campaign - 'Respect Alcohol' to raise awareness of the risks associated with alcohol consumption amongst young people aged 11 to 16 years old.
Evidence shows that young people are often assoicated with anti-social behaviour and disorder issues when under the influence of alcohol. There are also links between alcohol misuse, low educational achievement and adult criminal behaviour.
The campaign addresses social norms/perceptions associated with alcohol and substance misuse. The key areas include:
Physical - getting into a fight
Appearance - how alcohol affects the way you look
Sexual behaviour
Getting home after a night out
Photographic evidence - long-term impact
Access to alcohol - where do you get it from?
Death - hospital admissions
The campaign material has been developed with the help of students from Fair Oak Academy and Hagley Park Academy. All the models featured are part of Backstreet Theatre Company. Scenes have been reconstructed to represent real life situations.
If you are a young person and worried about your drinking, contact T3 Young Persons Substance Misuse Service on 01785 241393 or email
The campaign also questions parental responsibility by asking parents 'do you let your child drink?'.
The campaign has been supported by Staffordshire T3, Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire County Council's Young People's Service. It has been funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner's Locality Deal Fund.
