Household Waste - Special Collections For Large Items
Coronavirus update: Bulky waste collections have now resumed.
The Council is able to offer residents, via our waste collection contractor; Biffa Municipal Plc, a collection of bulky items such as settees, beds and wardrobes etc. This service is chargeable and with the first two units charged at £22 each and any subsequent units is charged at £16.50 each.
An example of items and their equivalent units that can be collected are:

Exceptions Are:
• American Style Fridge/Freezers can be collected for a charge of £44.00 (classed as two items).
• Motorised Furniture (such as reclining armchairs, reclining sofas and adjustable/hospital beds) will be collected at a charge of £44.00 per item (each motorised piece will be classed as two units).
The items should be placed at front of property, however, if they cannot and need collect from the rear of the property an additional £10.00 charge will be included.

Please Note: Biffa will be unable to collect any hazardous items, rubble or fence panels
We would also like to remind residents that some of their household items that are no longer wanted may be useful for someone else.
Freegle is also another way of offering your goods for free to someone else, and you may even pick up a bargain or two for yourself whilst you use the service.
