The Leadership team of Cannock Chase Council act as the senior strategic advisory body to the Managing Director and Council specifically advising on the following:
- Developing the strategic/corporate direction of the Council – making use of knowledge and skills of Leadership Team members to develop and explore proposals and ideas;
- Manage the development and delivery of key corporate priority outcomes, performance targets and Priority Delivery plans;
- Ensure proper governance of the organisation;
- Actively participate in the annual Budget setting cycle – ensuring excellent services continue to be provided to the residents of Cannock Chase;
- Interpret the external context and environment for the Council, taking into account International, National, Regional and local issues;
- Advise on the delivery of national and regional policies and priorities inc. specific Statutory requirements;
- Supporting effective communications across the organisation;
- Protect and enhance the Council’s reputation.
- Explore and develop ways of supporting corporate initiatives – take ownership and responsibility for delivery and successful completion;
- Ensure partnership opportunities are explored for the benefit of the Council and District as a whole – Partnership working in the broader sense;

Background
Tim has over 30 years experience in senior strategic management in local government and the NHS. He was appointed chief executive of Stafford Borough Council in 2016 and prior to that held director roles at Derby City Council, Wolverhampton City Council and Tamworth Borough Council.

To have overall accountability for Council staff and services.
To ensure the Council’s agreed priorities are delivered and that there is effective corporate governance.
Build positive and productive relationships with Councillors, trade unions, partner organisations, local MP and Government departments;
Direct, influence, lobby, persuade and encourage positive outcomes for the Council through partnership and cross-organisational working.
Lead in a way that motivates and empowers others across all services and levels of the authority.

Background
Chris started his career at City of Wolverhampton Council in 2007 where he trained as an accountant and qualified with CIPFA. It was a time when the council was actively modernising and transforming its services, and delivery to residents. Chris was involved across a number of areas including housing, year-end accounts and economic regeneration. He left Wolverhampton to further his career joining Herefordshire Council to work in the corporate finance team. After this he took the opportunity to join Redditch and Bromsgrove councils which had completed a full sharing of almost all council services with the exception of housing as only Redditch had a Housing Revenue Account. There he progressed to become the Deputy s151 Officer for both councils. Most recently he was the Chief Financial Officer and Section 151 at Calderdale Council in West Yorkshire.

Background
Joss started work at Cannock Chase Council in 1986, as a trainee electrician in the Building Works Section. He left the Council briefly in 1991 and returned into the section, as a supervisor, where he eventually became the Housing Maintenance Manager. In 2009 Joss changed career and became the Council’s Waste and Engineering Manager. Prior to becoming the Council’s Head of Environment and Healthy Lifestyles Joss has managed and been heavily involved with a number of the Councils frontline services and major projects, including CCTV and Social Alarms.

Background
Dean has worked in local government since 2005, starting at East Staffordshire Borough Council where he managed the Economic Regeneration team and in later years took on additional responsibilities for research and consultation, partnerships and the LSP.
In 2014, Dean moved to Wyre Forest District Council where he headed up the North Worcestershire Economic Development & Regeneration (NWEDR) shared service which covered Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest.
Dean joined Cannock Chase Council as Head of Economic Prosperity in September 2018.

Judith has worked in local government since 1983. She has worked for a County Council and a London Borough before joining Cannock Chase Council in 1997. Judith has spent much of her career working in Internal Audit and continues to have responsibility for this service alongside a range of others.

Background
Nirmal has worked within the Housing Sector since 1988. She started her career at Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council within the Housing Department. In 2004 she moved to Aspire Housing and then in 2008 she joined Meres & Mosses Housing Association (MMHA) as Head of Housing and Support. MMHA was part of a group structure with South Shropshire Housing Association and following an internal restructure Nirmal was appointed by Shropshire Housing Group as Head of Housing and was also the former Chair of The Chartered Institute of Housing - West Midlands Board.
Nirmal joined the Council in November 2016.
