Hednesford Town Council has prepared a Neighbourhood Plan which has now been submitted to Cannock Chase District Council. The Council is now consulting on this and would like to invite your comments.

The consultation period runs for 6 weeks from 12th February-26th March 2018.

The Neighbourhood Plan contains a number of policies for guiding the future development of the Hednesford Neighbourhood Area (the Hednesford Town Parish area).  It is intended to be used to help determine planning applications in the Hednesford Neighbourhood Area and guide other planning-related decisions e.g. investment in infrastructure.

The plan has undergone previous rounds of public consultation, led by the Town Council.  This is the last stage of public consultation before it is submitted to an independent Examiner.  This consultation seeks your comments on the plan and whether it meets specific legislative requirements. After this stage all comments (including your name and, if applicable, the organisation you represent) will be forwarded to the Examiner who will assess the plan and determine whether or not it can proceed to a local referendum. If it is able to proceed, eligible voters within the Neighbourhood Area will be asked if they are in favour, or not in favour, of the plan.  If the vote is in favour, the Hednesford Neighbourhood Plan can be adopted as part of the District’s Local Plan and used to help determine future planning applications.

You can view the submitted Hednesford Neighbourhood Plan and associated documents via www.cannockchasedc.gov.uk/planningpolicy under ‘latest news’. Hard copies of the documents are also available (for reference only) at the following locations during normal office opening hours:

  • Cannock Chase District Council Civic Centre reception
  • Hednesford Town Council office (Pye Green Community Centre)
  • Hednesford Library.

To make your comments please use the representation forms available to download from the website address above.  Hard copies are available from Cannock Chase Council Civic Centre or on request to the Planning Policy team (see below contact details).

The closing date for comments is Monday 26th March 2018 at 17:00pm.

Please return your completed representation forms by the closing date via email to planningpolicy@cannockchasedc.gov.uk or by post to the following address;
