The Council is leading a longitudinal research study that will follow the aspirations and achievements of a group of young people throughout their secondary education in Cannock Chase.
The Aims
This project is designed to inform understanding of what life is like for young people in Cannock Chase District . With the involvement of pupils from Staffordshire University Academy, this study will present ‘real life’ stories of the different paths your child chooses to follow during their teenage years. It is our intention to use this insight to help shape our future service design and delivery to best meet the wider needs of local communities such as healthy lifestyles, literacy and development of key skills.
The Benefits
This study is intended to offer an innovative and participative approach to social research and add a “real life” insight to existing research. For Staffordshire University Academy, involvement in this study will encourage strong links between partners and creates an opportunity to further develop relationships between the Academy and the wider community. For the participants it is hoped their involvement will raise ambitions and provide young people with an opportunity to engage with partners.
