Consultation has started on the draft alcohol Licensing Policy 2016-2020.

The policy has been prepared in accordance with the Licensing Act 2003 and Guidance issued under Section 182 of the Act.  The policy sets out how the Council administers its licensing functions and how decisions will be made.

The general principles of the policy focus on four licensing objectives, the prevention of crime and disorder, ensuring public safety, prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm.

This consultation provides residents with the opportunity to make comments on all aspects of the document between 3rd August and 27th September 2015.

Councillor Alan Dudson, Environment Portfolio Leader said “The Council recognises that well run licensed premises make our town centres and the wider environment a safe and enjoyable place to visit.  This consultation provides residents and businesses in the District the opportunity to make comments on the document before it is adopted by Cannock Chase Council.”

The document can be viewed on the Council’s website:  (this document is no longer available)

Comments are invited during the eight week consultation period from Monday 3rd August to Sunday 27th September, either by email to licensingunit@cannockchasedc.gov.uk or by post to Licensing Unit, Cannock Chase Council, Civic Centre, Beecroft Road, Cannock WS11 1BG.
