A new business advisor has been appointed to support ambitious entrepreneurs across Cannock Chase.
Under a partnership between Cannock Chase Council and Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub, Richard Carty will be on hand to support SMEs in the area looking for expert advice to help plot a growth curve for 2024.
In the role, supported by the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), Richard will draw on his expertise as a business coach to work with companies across the district looking to tap into new revenue streams and make the leap into global markets.
Sarah Simpson, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub spokesperson, said: “Richard’s appointment is one of a series of initiatives and programmes delivered with UKSPF in the district, which have been developed to help businesses to thrive.
“By joining forces with Cannock Chase Council, we have been able to create a window of opportunity for businesses in the district to access additional expert support.”
Richard’s expertise includes successfully guiding firms in Staffordshire and across the UK to enter and trade in international markets.
Richard said: “I look forward to meeting business owners and entrepreneurs in Cannock Chase.
“Trading internationally as a Staffordshire-based business can be a great opportunity to expand your market and increase your profitability.”
Richard’s appointment is one of a series of UKSPF funded initiatives and projects focused on business support in the district.
Dean Piper, Head of Economic Development and Planning at Cannock Chase Council, said: “Richard’s appointment will be a significant benefit for our team in our work to provide information and advice for enterprising start-ups and business development support and signposting for a wide variety of grant and loan schemes to help fund business projects.”
