Work is underway in Cannock to create a new £6 million nursing home for adults living with complex needs.
The home will create around 100 new healthcare jobs and will be owned and operated by leading national health care provider Exemplar Health Care.
The first residents are expected to move into the new nursing home in early 2025.
Midlands-based Deeley Construction has been appointed to complete the development and work has now started on site.
The 33-bedroom care home will be on the site of the former Avon Road car park and will support adults living with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities, and physical disabilities.
The home will provide a supportive environment for its residents, with each room featuring an en-suite bathroom and the home will be split into three units to provide smaller groups with communal spaces.
The home will also feature sensory bathrooms, an activities hub, a therapy room, a hair salon and a large accessible garden.
The start of work at the home in Cannock marks the fourth scheme which Deeley Construction has worked on in partnership with Exemplar Health Care.

The land was earmarked for sale in the Cannock Town Centre Development Prospectus.
Councillor Josh Newbury, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Leader for Regeneration and High Streets from Cannock Chase Council has welcomed the start of work on site.
He said: “We are impressed at the progress already being made by Deeley Construction and Exemplar Health Care since the Council sold the land. This is a welcome addition to health care provision in the town and is an ideal location for that purpose.
“The development complements the Council’s £20m Levelling Up Fund project and will kickstart the Council’s wider ambitions to rejuvenate Cannock town centre.”
