Cannock Chase Council has recently approved and adopted a framework to help reduce fuel poverty and carbon emissions in the District. As part of this approval it has published a new Statement of Intent on its website.

Householders can apply for help from the energy company obligation flexibility scheme (ECO4 Flex) if their total income is below £31,000 per year, and their home is hard to heat or they  are vulnerable to cold.

Councillor Adrienne Fitzgerald, Cabinet Member for Housing, Heritage and Leisure said:

“Tackling fuel poverty and cold homes is a key priority for the Council in supporting vulnerable people, as well as taking action to improve energy efficiency and decarbonising homes.

“This revised Statement of Intent ensures the Council can participate in the scheme, and provides a route for low-income households, and households vulnerable to the cold, to access green technologies and insulation measures at no cost to the resident.”

Anyone wishing to make enquiries about this scheme should contact the Council’s delivery partner, Beat The Cold by calling FREEPHONE 0800 3892258 or phoning (01782) 914915 or by visiting www.beatcold.org.uk
