New food law enforcement plan adopted

Cannock Chase Council’s Cabinet has agreed to adopt a new food law enforcement plan for 2023-25.  The plan is required by the Food Standards Agency which requires the Council to set out how its food hygiene service is delivered.

Cannock Chase Council is supporting the national Keep Britain Tidy campaign ‘Love Parks Week’.



The annual campaign runs from 28 July to 6 August and celebrates parks, green spaces, and the dedicated volunteers and Council staff that look after them all year round.  



In Cannock Chase District we are lucky that we have dedicated volunteers that provide free community activities and events, as well as help the Council to maintain our parks and open spaces and ensure they thrive with all year-round activities for the local community.

Visit the new Bug Explorer Trail at Cannock Chase Stadium

Bug Trail

Local schoolchildren and community groups have helped design a new eco arts trail to encourage more people to go outdoors and explore their local green spaces.

The Bug Explorer Trail is located around the Cannock Chase Stadium site on Pye Green Road and incorporates five art pieces depicting insects that can be found on Cannock Chase.

Partnership support offer on hand for Amazon employees

Joint press release with Staffordshire County Council

People affected by the proposed closure of Amazon’s Rugeley distribution centre are being offered a support package by a Staffordshire partnership. 

While all employees have been offered positions at the new Sutton Coldfield facility, several hundred live locally those who choose to look for opportunities locally will be helped to find new jobs in Staffordshire.

Cannock Chase Can will be supporting Hednesford in Partnership this year in hosting the town’s annual festival.

Officers from Cannock Chase Council and Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles (IHL) are working closely with Everyone Health to showcase the district’s health and wellbeing offer.

Hednesford Festival will be held on Saturday 12 August, 11am until 4pm in Hednesford Park.


Cannock Chase Council signs the ASB Pledge to show commitment to supporting victims of anti-social behaviour

Cannock Chase Council has signed the ASB Pledge.



ASB Help launched the PLEDGE, which encourages all agencies involved in the ASB case review process to embed best practice into their policy and procedures.  



The anti-social behaviour case review was previously referred to as community trigger.



ASB Help is a registered charity that was set up to provide advice and support to victims of anti-social behavior.


Six parks and green spaces in Cannock Chase are officially recognised as some of the country’s best parks

Green Flag Awards

Today (18 July), Cannock Chase Council is celebrating after receiving a Green Flag Award for Cannock Park, Ravenhill Park, Elmore Park, Hednesford Park, Stile Cop Cemetery and Castle Ring.

The news that these parks and open spaces across the District have achieved the accreditation means that Cannock Chase Council are one of the top performing District Council’s in the West Midlands.

Castle Ring Green Heritage Site has also retained the Green Heritage Site Accreditation, supported by Historic England, for the management of its historic features.

Council appoints new Armed Forces Champion
