Cannock Chase Council has implemented a Public Spaces Protection Order (Alcohol Restriction Zones) across the District.

Staffordshire County Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, Councillor Philip White, has been to Cannock to understand `first-hand` Cannock Chase Council’s plans to regenerate the town centre.

Cannock Chase Council is seeking views on its proposed Private Sector Housing Strategy which covers privately rented, owner-occupied and Registered Provider Housing.

Just a couple of months after Cannock Chase Council announced its intention to create a new urban woodland at Bradbury Lane in Hednesford, over 3,000 native trees and shrubs have been planted to date.

Temporary emergency accommodation for asylum seekers in Cannock

This week a hotel in Cannock has started receiving a group of asylum seekers at the request of the Home Office. The asylum seekers are being cared for by Serco as part of an arrangement with the Home Office. 

This week’s budget announcement that Cannock Chase Council is to be allocated £20m from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund (LUF) programme has been positively received as `huge boost` to the Council’s ambitious plans to rejuvenate its Cannock town centre.

At Council last night four former councillors of Cannock Chase Council were presented with certificates to mark their appointment as Aldermen and Alderwomen of the District, in recognition of their service to the Council and the wider community. They received their certificates from the Chairman of the Council, Councillor Doug Smith.

Those newly appointed to this honour are Gordon Alcott (shown top left), Zaphne Stretton MBE (top right), Diane Todd (bottom left) and Patricia Ansell (bottom right). Their names will now be inscribed on an Honours Board in the Civic Suite.

A message on Facebook that led to a man from Wednesbury offering his `services` to remove waste was not `liked` in the way he hoped it would be after he was prosecuted by Cannock Chase Council and ended up with a criminal conviction.
