Cannock Chase Council’s waste and recycling calendars for December 2024 to March 2025 are now available to download from our website.

The calendars detail collection dates for the green, blue and brown bins, also include important information about Christmas and New Year changes.

Funding approved for playground improvements at local family centre

Cabinet have approved to allocate Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) ward funding for playground resurfacing works at West Chadsmoor Family Centre.

£5,846.74 has been allocated from Chadsmoor Ward Community Levy ward fund.

This follows members of the of the former Cannock East Ward identifying the playground resurfacing works for this important community venue.

The consultation on the future of culture and heritage services in Cannock Chase is now open. This follows a decision by the Council's Cabinet yesterday to invite residents to share their views on the district’s culture and heritage offer.

The consultation comes in response to proposals to close the Museum of Cannock Chase and the Prince of Wales Theatre.

Senior councillors will discuss closing the Museum of Cannock Chase and Prince of Wales Theatre as part of budget measures in a move to protect essential frontline services for the community and key leisure facilities for residents.

Councillors at Cannock Chase Council are urging pensioners not to miss out on receiving the Winter Fuel Allowance (WFA) this year.

The council is supporting efforts to encourage local pensioners to check if they are eligible for Pension Credit - which means they will benefit from the winter fuel payment.

The issue was discussed in the Council meeting last month where it was agreed that the Leader of the Council would write to our local MP Josh Newbury.

Cannock Chase Council is delighted to announce that work will soon begin on the exciting redevelopment of the Flaxley Road play area in Rugeley’s Pear Tree Estate.

With an investment of £141,770, the project will transform the current space into a safe, welcoming area with new accessible play equipment, a circular path for walking and cycling, seating, bins, and tree planting. Contractors are set to arrive on-site this month, with a goal to complete the project before Christmas.

Residents across Cannock Chase can now renew their garden waste subscription for brown bin collections for 2025.

Cannock Chase Council are pleased to announce that the price for the service will remain the same at £38.50 per year, remaining competitively priced and ensuring affordability for households across the district.

Once you renew your subscription you will receive a new green permit in the New Year, this should be displayed on your bin underneath the handle.

Local business strengthens position as industry leader thanks to Cannock Chase Council’s UKSPF funding

Laser Process experts in precision laser cutting and specialists in the manufacture of complex fabricated assemblies and metal components based in Cannock have strengthened their position as an industry leader following a £30,000 grant from the West Midlands SME Grant Programme.

The grant totalling £30K, received in January this year has enabled Laser Process to invest in new machinery, allowing them to bring in additional work in-house and create three new jobs.
