Local businesses in Cannock Chase have made a generous donation of Easter goodies to the Rugeley Food Bank and Cannock Chase Children’s Centre to help struggling families this Easter.
Dodd Group Midland Limited, who are the contractors for electrical and adaptations works for the Housing service at Cannock Chase Council, have donated 50 Easter eggs to Rugeley Food Bank.
Novus Property Solutions Limited, the kitchen and bathroom contractors for Cannock Chase Council’s Housing service, have donated a variety of Easter goodies which will make up 137 goodies bags for Cannock Chase Children’s Centre.
Chris Warrick, Contracts Manager from Dodd Group Midland Limited said: “We have worked for a number of years in Cannock Chase. Working day-to-day in the properties we see how hard families are finding it and struggling on a daily basis. This donation is a small gesture to give something back to the community.”
Dave Webb, Rugeley Foodbank Manager said: “The Foodbank is extremely grateful for the donation of the Easter eggs from the Dodd Group. We are sure that the Easter eggs will be greatly appreciated by the families that we support. We will ensure that these go out to families struggling in Cannock Chase in time for Easter.”
Deb Prew from Cannock Children’s Centre said: “On behalf of Cannock Chase Children’s Centre, we would like to say a big thank you to Novus and Cannock Chase Council for their generous donation of Easter goodies which will be distributed to vulnerable children in the District. They will be going to Family Action, Early Help Team and community groups. We are sure these lovely gifts will be appreciated.”
Toma Tereseviciute, Customer Liaison Officer at Novus said: “We like to give back to the local communities where we are working and have decided to donate Easter Goody Bags to children who are supported by Cannock Chase Children’s Centre.
“Novus’ Cannock office has received donations for this project from our staff as well as the contractors that are currently carrying out work on both kitchens and bathrooms. The goody bags will have Easter colouring pictures, chocolate and sweets etc. This will prove a great selection of Easter treats to the children in the families that are being supported by the centre.”
Ric Frumenzi, Assistant Manager in Housing Property Services at Cannock Chase Council said: “We have a great relationship with our contractors. We are very grateful for their kind donations; these will help everyone celebrate Easter despite the cost of living crisis.”
