Children, young people and families across Cannock Chase are being invited to enjoy a summer packed with free activities as the Cannock Chase Can Kids Club Summer Festival returns for its third year.

The festival will bring six weeks of fun, creativity and community spirit to locations across the district, with a varied programme designed to help children stay active, healthy and entertained throughout the summer holidays.

The Council’s Cannock Chase Can team will be visiting different communities each week, offering a range of free activities including arts and crafts, sporting games, gardening projects, nature-based activities and family challenges. Popular local performer Pep the Poet will also be making special appearances throughout the programme.

The Summer Festival forms part of the wider Cannock Chase Can health and wellbeing programme led by Cannock Chase Council, which aims to support children and young people to stay active, healthy and happy during the school holidays while encouraging families to spend time together and try new experiences.

To help families make the most of the activities available, a Kids CAN Club flyer and digital booklet have been distributed to primary schools across the district. Printed copies of the booklet are also available from local libraries, providing information on activities, events and family-friendly offers taking place throughout the summer.
All activities are free to access and can also be found on the Cannock Chase Can App, making it easy for families to discover opportunities near them and plan their summer adventures.

Councillor Georgina Jeffery, Portfolio Leader for Community Safety and Wellbeing at Cannock Chase Council, said: “We are delighted to welcome back the Cannock Chase Can Kids Club Summer Festival for a third year. The festival provides a fantastic opportunity for children and families to enjoy free, fun and engaging activities right on their doorstep throughout the summer holidays.

“Whether it’s getting active, exploring nature, trying something creative or simply spending quality time together, there is something for everyone to enjoy. We know that school holidays can be challenging for many families, which is why we are committed to providing accessible opportunities that support health, wellbeing and community connections.

“I would encourage families across Cannock Chase to pick up a booklet, download the Cannock Chase Can App and get involved in what promises to be another fantastic summer programme.”
