Local community groups, organisations and businesses are being encouraged to get involved in the final development stages of the District’s new health improvement mobile app.
Over the next few months, the community of Cannock Chase will have the opportunity of getting exclusive access to the new Cannock Chase Can App prior to its official release in the New Year.
Cannock Chase Council in partnership with Inspiring healthy lifestyles (IHL) has been working closely with local partner organisations and community groups over the last few months to develop the Cannock Chase Can programme, which aims to help people live happier and healthier lives. .
The new app will provide information about healthy eating, physical activity, healthier lifestyle choices as well as how to budget and manage emotional well being . It will host a variety of wellness challenges which can be undertaken as an individual, group or family.
Councillor Valerie Jones, Portfolio Leader for Community Engagement, Health and Wellbeing said: “The Council is committed to improving the health of its local residents and our new Cannock Chase Can programme is an innovative and fun way to do this.
“We are keen for the community of Cannock Chase to get involved and take up this exclusive offer to help us ensure the new and unique app is fit for purpose, accessible and functions correctly.
“When you have expressd an interest in being part of this exciting development, you will be given direct access to the demo version of the app where users will be asked to look at the design, content and accessibility of the user journey.

In addition to this exclusive ‘first look’ offer, the Council is also continuing to call on inidividuals, local community groups, businesses and organisations to submit challenges and rewards. These will feature within the app for users to complete and achieve whilst progressing up their wellness wheel.
Challenges can be submitted in various formats including video, audio, step-by-step instructions and a web link. An online submission form with guidance packs are available to download from the Council’s website.
