Cannock Chase Council is asking residents views on a new Corporate Plan for 2021-2024, which will set out the priorities and objectives for the District.

The current corporate plan runs from 2018-2023, however the Covid-19 pandemic has had such a profound impact on the Council and the District that is has been decided to review and replace the current plan.

The Council is proposing three priorities;

1. Supporting Economic Recovery

2. Supporting Heath and Wellbeing

3. Financially resilient District

Objectives underpinning these priorities include jobs, skills, more social housing, opportunities for healthy and active lifestyles and creating a greener environment.

Work has been ongoing over the last few months to respond to the pandemic and plan for recovery. This is set out in a strategy approved by the Council’s Cabinet on 15 October.  This is an interim strategy dealing with the shorter term issues and will be replaced by the new corporate plan which will look at the longer term future for the District.

Councillor George Adamson, Leader of the Council said “The unprecedented pandemic has hit us hard.  Council officers are working on a recovery strategy, which not only looks at the Council but also the community and the economy in the District.  It is really important that the Council focuses on recovery and the future; this is why we are reviewing the corporate plan.

"It is really important to focus on the most important actions and ensure that our resources are directed in the right ways.  We want everyone to have their say so we’re running an online survey to gather views and will have focus group discussions, involving the voluntary sector, young people, the community/residents, our staff, and our councillors.”

Everyone can have their say by completing the Council’s online survey here:  (no longer available)

Or you can request a paper copy of the survey by calling 01543 464548 or emailing saragreen@cannockchasedc.gov.uk

The survey will be open for comments from Monday 19 October until Monday 30 November.

Residents are also invited to join our two online focus groups taking place next month aimed at the community/residents. Places are limited to eight per session and will be on a `first come first served` basis. You can book a place by emailing saragreen@cannockchasedc.gov.uk. Participation in the other focus groups is by invitation.
