Local company creates over 300 new jobs

Cannock based company Super Smart Service Ltd are expanding in the District creating 325 new job vacancies.

Super Smart Service is a Hong Kong China owned UK subsidiary company that specialises in e-fulfilment of goods to both retailers and online shoppers. During the COVID-19 pandemic the company has expanded significantly, processing over 30 sea containers and dispatching 40 HGV loads of goods per day.

They currently lease the largest distribution centre built by Exeter Property Group at Kingswood Lakeside and have now took over the lease of a further two distribution centre units on Kingswood Lakeside as well as one warehouse facility on Watling Street, Cannock after exploring opportunities in both Lichfield and Cannock.

Councillor Tony Johnson, Portfolio Leader for Economic Development and Planning said “We welcome this vast expansion in our District.  The COVID-19 pandemic has seen the economy struggle particularly in Cannock Chase.  With, many local businesses experiencing major difficulties in the present situation, including enforced closure and the furlough scheme coming to an end in March next year. We can expect some very tough times in our local job market. The creation of 325 jobs, will go a long way to help regenerate our local economy."

Deputy General Manager, Charles Lu of Super Smart Service said “We appreciate the support provided by Cannock Chase Council Lead by Tony McGovern and Staffordshire County Council who made our head quarter relocation and expansion in the local area much easier. We would like to play our part in creating more jobs and skill training to the local and regional workforce and support local business communities within Staffordshire.”
