Cannock Chase Council are delighted to announce that E G Skett & Co. have been appointed as the new street market operator in Cannock for the next three years.
Following the successful trial of a street market in Cannock town centre Cannock Chase Council has appointed E G Skett & Co. as the Council’s new street market operator on a three year contract. Skett & Co. will take over the management of the street market from Bescot Promotions and the first Skett & Co. market will be held in Cannock on 20th November.
Councillor Diane Todd, Portfolio Leader for Town Centre Regeneration said “We have valued Bescot Promotions cooperation in working with us in what has been a new and untested venture in Cannock town centre. However, following a competitive procurement exercise Skett & Co. has now been appointed as our street market operator. We look forward to them bringing a market of quality and variety to Cannock that will continue to add vibrance and vitality to the town centre”.
Skett & Co. is a third generation family business based in Stratford upon Avon. They have extensive experience in operating weekly markets and also famers and other specialist markets as Sketts Quality Events
Aby Skett, Office Executive, said: “The team are delighted to have won this latest tender, this is great news for Sketts and for Cannock. We’re looking forward to working with all the traders on this market to make it a viable and exciting place to visit.
We’re already meeting with all the traders, and we’re then planning our soft relaunch on 18th December, to include a special visit from Santa himself.
We’re looking forward to working with Cannock Chase Council in the coming months in taking this market forward and bringing our own touches, such as quality products and excellent fine food, to raise the bar for the people of Cannock.
