A new Town Centre Partnership was given the green light to be facilitated by Cannock Chase Council, at last week’s Cabinet Meeting.

The new Partnership will, through its Board Membership represent the interests of stakeholders and businesses in Cannock Town Centre. Election of Board Members is taking place and this looks set to be an exciting time given the volume of support shown to join the Partnership Board.

Anybody can join the Partnership so long as there is a desire to help to create a strong and diverse town centre for the future.

The Partnership will work collectively to help increase footfall in the town centre and has a clear focus on making Cannock Town Centre an attractive place to eat, drink, shop and visit.

Councillor Diane Todd, Portfolio Leader for Town Centre Regeneration said “This is a positive step for Cannock Town Centre and will bring together town centre businesses.  However, there will be a challenge to face with how to inspire and enthuse new members in order for them to work positively and together for the good of their own town centre.  It will give a collective voice to the town centre and will represent the interests of all.

“I am delighted that Cabinet have approved the formation of a new Unincoporated Association who will handle all of the affairs of the new Partnership and its members.

“The establishment of this Partnership will look to maximise benefits of linked trips by visitors to the new McArthurGlen Designer Outlet when it opens in 2020.”

The first meeting will be 5.30pm at the Chase Skills & Innovation Hub on Monday 26 November. Please get involved by turning up or giving us a call on 01543 464338.
