11. View Planning Applications and Make Comments

Cannock Chase Council provides a service which enables customers to check on the progress of current applications, submit comments, review previous applications, decision details and appeals. To view and make comments on applications follow the link below to use our online search facilities.  This service allows users to enter an application number or a date range to view applications submitted, decided and those that have entered the appeal process.  Comments on applications that are still un-determined can also be submitted by writing to The Planning Department at Beecroft Road Cannock or by emailing developmentcontrol@cannockchasedc.gov.uk

Copyright Notice

Plans, drawings and materials submitted to the Council are protected by the Copyright Acts (47, 1988 Act). You may only download or print material for consultation purposes. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner, (the applicant/agent/architect). You may, however, make copies of the decision notice provided the copies are not altered in any way.

Information Published On The Website

Full details of all planning applications are available on the website covering applications registered from 5th November 2010.  Our policy on what we publish and how long we make information available is set out below;-

Information We Publish About Planning Applications

Planning applications are required by law to be available for the public to see. This includes the application form, plans and supporting documents together with any correspondence with the applicant ( or applicant's agent ), statutory & non-statutory bodies and members of the public commenting on applications. The same rules apply in the event of an appeal being made against a refusal of permission or conditions imposed on the grant of permission.

We aim not to reveal personal details such as signatures, email addresses and telephone numbers. Our advice is that if you wish to be certain that these details will not be published, you should not include them in correspondence.

Timescales for retention of information on the website

The application form, plans, supporting documents, the decision, and any subsequent appeal decision will be retained on the website.  Any subsequent correspondence, plans and information relating to the discharge of planning conditions will also be retained for at least as long as they are relevant to the need for the Council to ensure conditions are complied with. Letters or emails from members of the public,consultation comments and superseded plans will be removed from the website once a decision has been made.  Only relevant information relating to the application will remain on the public website.

Requests to treat comments confidentially/anonymous comments

We are unable to agree to treat comments on a planning application or appeal in confidence. Anonymous comments will not be given any weight in the decision making process.

Defamatory or racist comments

Comments of this nature will not be published. Letters containing such comments will be returned to the correspondent the consequence of which is that they may forfeit their right for relevant planning objections to be taken into account.

Sensitive personal information

The personal circumstances of an applicant are not normally relevant to the determination of an application. However there are occasions when, for example, disability or caring responsibilities are factors that applicants wish the Council to take into account in decision making. You are advised to reveal only the information which you consider the Council needs to be aware of in relation to personal circumstances.

Sensitive wildlife data 

We do not publish information about protected species where this may result in a threat of wildlife crime.
