- Update on our latest Stock Condition Survey results
-
Over the past year we have been surveying our council housing to understand the maintenance condition of tenants’ homes. Thank you to everyone who has already given our surveyors access to their home. If you have not already had a visit, please use the number on the card that we left so that we can include your home in our survey. We want to have surveyed every home by the end of September 2026.
Looking at the surveys we have already done we have found a number of homes that will need work carried out to help us meet the Government’s Decent Homes Standard. This mainly involves replacements to windows and doors in the homes we have identified. Just to reassure all tenants, where any significant hazards which would affect your health and safety are identified on surveys these are addressed immediately, currently no surveyed properties have any hazards present. We are now putting together a plan to address these issues and we will keep you updated as that programme progresses. Our normal repairs service will continue during this time.
If you have not yet responded to our request to survey your home please contact Housing Property Services on 01543 456830 or by email, hps@cannockchasedc.gov.uk and we will book an appointment with you.For more information on Stock Condition Surveys, please see our Summer 2026 Newsletter which contains an article. The Summer 2026 Newsletter can be found on our Tenant Magazine and Newsletter page.
- NEW - Housing Website Feedback Survey
-
We have recently made some improvements to the Housing webpages based on recommendations from our Tenant & Leaseholder Review Panel. These changes include a new search bar that helps you find information within the Housing pages easier, handy quick-link buttons to some of our most visited pages, and a simplified homepage with less text to make it easier to navigate.
Now we'd like to hear what you think. If you've visited the Housing webpages recently, please take a few minutes to complete our short survey and tell us what's working well and where we can improve further.
Your feedback will help us continue to make our online services easier to use for everyone.
Please follow the link below to begin the survey:
Housing Website Feedback Survey.
Please ensure you complete the survey by Wednesday 30th September 2026.

- NEW - Get Involved: Help Us Shape Our Lettings Standard
-
We are launching an exciting new engagement project and are looking for tenants who would like to play an active role in helping us improve our homes and services.
We are recruiting a small group of tenants to work alongside our officers to review and scrutinise the Lettings Standard for our properties. This will include visiting empty (void) properties with staff to look at what we provide, identify what works well, and highlight any areas for improvement.
This is a fantastic opportunity to:- Influence how our homes are prepared and presented for incoming tenants.
- Share your lived experience to help shape future standards.
- Work alongside officers and learn more about the lettings process.
- Make a real difference to housing services in your community.
You don’t need any previous experience, just an interest in shaping our services and a willingness to take part in property visits and discussions.
If you’d like to express your interest in joining the group, please get in touch on the contact details below.Email: residentengagement@cannockchasedc.gov.uk
