Love Parks is Keep Britain Tidy's annual campaign celebrating parks and green spaces, the people who care for them, and the countless benefits they bring to people, communities and our planet.
Parks are so much more than just patches of grass — they're essential for our wellbeing and the health of our environment.
For your personal wellbeing: Parks are a sanctuary for both your physical and mental wellbeing. Spending time in them offers opportunities for exercise, social connection and stress reduction through a simple dose of nature.
For our communities: Parks are the heart of our communities, fostering social cohesion and giving everyone a place to come together. They also stimulate local businesses and economies by hosting a wide range of recreational and cultural activities.
For the planet: Parks are powerful tools in the fight against climate change. They help to sequester carbon, reduce the ‘urban heat island effect’ by providing natural shade, lower flood risks by absorbing rainwater and support biodiversity by creating essential habitats and wildlife corridors.
In 2026, Love Parks Week runs from 24 July to 2 August. During this week, hundreds of park managers and 'friends of' volunteer groups across England throw open their gates to their communities, hosting a diverse range of inclusive events.
